Dear Mary Ann, I had the pleasure/privilege of reading your manuscript over the past few days. What a treat!  I’m so very proud of you (and remain, as before, so incredibly honored to be included so lovingly in the acknowledgments!!). While I knew a great deal of what is contained in the book, it was so much fun and so fascinating to learn some things I did not know.  What an amazing life! And so compellingly documented. I was particularly enthralled by the first chapter – it’s so evocative and lays the groundwork for all to come in such an interesting way.  Again, dear Mary Ann, I’m so proud of you.  You did it!  It feels like such a short time ago that you were wondering if this would be a project you should take on – and now it’s completed and with such excellence.  You know that I know how much hard work it took… but the person who emerges in those pages is capable of anything!
